Bed Bug Heater Rental
in Houston, TX

We rent professional-grade bed bug heaters across the Houston metro and you run the treatment yourself. I deliver the equipment to your door, set it up with you, show you how to run it, and come back for it afterwards.

We are not a pest control company and we do not send a crew. What we do is put the same class of heat equipment a professional would use in your hands, for a set period, with the training to operate it.

What Actually Arrives at Your Door

A rental is the heater, the fans that move the hot air where it needs to go, extension cords, and temperature monitoring so you can see what the room is actually doing rather than guessing. Delivery and pickup are part of the rental, not an extra.

The part that matters more than the equipment list is the handover. I bring it in, place it, plug it in with you watching, and stay until you can run it without me standing there. Most people are comfortable inside ten minutes.

Can You Really Do this Yourself?

This is the question almost everyone asks, usually in the first minute of the call, and usually a little apologetically. The honest answer is that most people can, and the ones who have trouble are almost never the ones who found the equipment confusing.

They are the ones who skipped preparation. Heat is unforgiving about one thing in particular: it only kills what it reaches. A room can sit at temperature for five hours and a bag of clothes shoved against the baseboard can stay twenty degrees cooler in the middle. That is where survivors come from, and it is entirely within your control before you switch anything on.

What you are responsible for is real work, but it is not skilled work. Pull furniture away from the walls. Open drawers and closets. Get boxes and bags off the floor and out of corners. Remove everything that should not be in a hot room — houseplants, pets, candles, aerosol cans, lighters, lipstick, electronics, produce, medications, photographs and stringed instruments all come out first. Then you run the equipment and watch the temperature.

Both of the customers who wrote to us said the same two things: the equipment showed up and got set up, and the instructions were good enough to follow. One of them opened by admitting she was not sure she could do it herself. Nobody wrote in to praise the heater.

"I was a little unsure about using a heating company but I am so glad that I did. The company delivers and setup the equipment..."

How the Heat Actually Works

Bed bugs have a thermal death point, and it is not high. Adults and nymphs die at 118°F. Eggs need 122°F. That gap is the whole reason heat is worth the trouble — sprays commonly miss eggs, which is why people treat, think they are done, and find bites again ten days later when the next generation hatches.

In practice you run the room well above those numbers, around 135°F ambient, and hold it there for four to five hours. The extra margin is not overkill. It is what gets the middle of a mattress, the inside of a box spring and the back of a headboard up to lethal temperature, because those places lag well behind the air in the room.

24 hours is the rental window, not the treatment time. The current confusion about this is worth clearing up: you are not running heat for a day. You have the equipment for a day, and the heat itself is a four-to-five-hour block per treated area. That is what makes it possible to work room-by-room in a single rental.

If you want the sequence in full — preparation, placement, run time, what to do while it runs — The process is laid out step by step here.

Choosing a Package

Packages are sized by rooms and by what your electrical capacity will carry, not by square footage on a listing.

Most homes end up running one or two heaters. A single bedroom or an apartment is a small job. A four-bedroom house is either a bigger package or a longer rental.

The one thing worth checking before delivery day is your panel. Cords need to run to separate circuits, because putting everything on one is how you trip a circuit breaker four hours into a run and start over.

Older Houston housing stock, including much of Sugar Land and the inner loop, is often on a 100-amp panel, and that limits how much can run at once more than the size of the rooms does.

Compare the rental packages side by side.

What it Costs

Renting is a fraction of what a professional heat treatment costs, and the gap is your time and your attention. Professional treatment in Houston generally runs $1,000 to $3,000; a rental is in the hundreds.

Your Bed Bug Treatment Questions Answered

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I really do this myself, or do I need a professional?

Most people can handle it themselves. The key is preparation, placement, and patience. Clear walls and floors, open drawers and closets, and remove items that shouldn't be in a hot room. The main challenge arises from rushing the clearing process. If you want to weigh it up honestly, we compare renting against hiring someone here.

  • How many heaters will I need?

Typically, most homes require one or two heaters. The limiting factor is usually electrical capacity rather than square footage. To determine your needs, share the number of rooms and their layout, and we can quickly assess your requirements over the phone.
  • Does heat actually kill bed bug eggs?

Yes, bed bug eggs die at 122°F, while adults and nymphs die at 118°F. This is a significant advantage of heat treatment over sprays, which often miss eggs. The room is heated to around 135°F to ensure that all areas, including inside mattresses, reach lethal temperatures.
  • How much does renting cost compared to hiring someone?

In the Houston area, professional heat treatment typically costs between $1,000 and $3,000 for a standard home. Renting equipment is much more affordable since you provide the labor instead of hiring a crew. The full comparison, including hidden costs, is available here.

  • What if it doesn't work?

There is no guarantee, and I will not pretend otherwise. What decides the outcome is preparation, run time, where the heaters and fans are placed, and whether anything was left stacked against a wall — clutter is where survivors come from, every time. Heat also does not stop bed bugs coming back in on luggage or secondhand furniture, so a second round is sometimes about re-entry rather than failure.
